1. I've read and reread the instructions (if you can call that chiicken scratch they give 'instructions') and there's a contradiction on measurements. Basicallly, when everything is installed properly, what should the gap be between the clutch diagphram and the T.O. bearing? I'm reading that it should .150 +/- .050.
2. What size diam. M/C are you using and did any setups NOT work properly fo you.

Stanley,....so that you can confirm if you are using the proper McLeod series hyd TOB for your application,

You need to have installed the clutch and pressureplate of your choice, along with the bellhousing on the engine, you'll need to measure (ACCURATELY) the distance from the outermost contact tip of the pressureplate's finger(s) to the outer face of the bellhousing's face where the tranny mates too, this is your "A" dimension (as mentioned in your McLeod instructions?)... it should be 3 inches or more, in order to use the 1400 series TOB from McLeod, under 3 inches you'll need the 1300 series.....


I'll assume your A measurement is greater than 3 inches, if so, you'll need to install the hyd TOB on the transmission, now measure the installed height of the TOB assy, measure from the transmission mounting face (the transmission face that contacts the bellhousing face/surface) to the installed end of the throw out bearings outer face, basically the entire overall length from tranny face to TOB bearing contact face, this is your "B" dimension...

after you have carefully measured these 2 (A & B) dimensions, (I like to use a set of dial calipers)...subtract A from B, this equals your stack clearance height requirement, it should be within .100 (min) to .300 (max), (basically the sum answer of B-A = between .100 to .300)....the 1400 series has an adjustment screw to adjust this dimension to obtain the .100 to .300 required stack height clearance/operation value....hope this helps?


As far as the hyd, master I run, I currently run the upgraded Keisler/Wilwood assy, it consists of the Wilwood compact master assy (.750 bore) and Keislers special aluminum mounting boss that better orientates the master in relation to the pedal stroke.


As far as any Masters to avoid, or problemmatic, that would be the FTE (German) series, while the FTE TOB are perhaps the best, their masters are undersized for the job, esp if the pressureplate is in the 2800 lb range
