The "small" cfm 4 bbls work better, especially if you have the standard 440 (non-Magnum or C-body 440) cam. Either 600 Holley 4160, 625 Eddy AFB/ 650 AVS OR the 340 750-800 cfm TQ. The TQ, when set up correctly, will get good gas mileage for its
cfm rating. Never count it out!! Any one of these carbs would be okay for what you desire to do with the motor. Trial and error jetting and ignition adjustments will get you to your goal.
