On the weight... I disagree with you... thats alot of metal your taking out... but I use moly tubing which is 1.36# per foot but if you use MS its 2.0#
When I did this using mild steel 1 3/4 .134 wall the tubing definitely weighed more than the inner fenders. All total the inner fenders were about 20 pounds.
