The only time mine shifted out of OD and turned the light on was when I was pulling my Valiant across Iowa into the wind. It was throwing a code and turning on the CEL though.

Good luck with it. You may find it is not that serious. I've had tons of people tell me how junky these trans' are, but mine has been pretty dang bullet proof for what it's been through.
