I knew a guy who bought a 318 dodge truck with one and a 650 eddy. The truck had 4.10 or 4.56 gears so it had to rev but that motor seemed like it was done at 3000rpm, the intake probably wasn't entirely at fault, but it certainly didn't help.
I've also seen various dyno sheets that showed it really had no advantage down low and gave up torque big time from the mid range on up.
