Excuse me dragram but I was at work for this hour.

Just for the record. Teflon tape and pipe thread sealant are both for pipe thread. Tapered threads, not straight. It may have worked 98% of the time but the fact is straight threads are hard to seal simply because they were never designed to.

Save the flame throwing. I use silicone to seal header bolts all the time. 98% is good enough for me.

If you absolutely need it to seal. Do what the factory does. Use an exhaust stud. They have 2 different threads on them seperated with a shoulder. The shoulder will seal the hole. Just to make it 110% sealed up, Daub some silicone on the stud too....and double nut the stud and tighten it until the shoulder is bottomed out.
