4.56 is usually the cutoff for the carrier, that ratio and anything numerically higher have a thinner ring gear and need a carrier for those ratios or a .188" ring gear spacer.

If the carrier you now have mounts the 6.50 ring gear without a spacer you will need a different carrier for the 3.54's.
