I would adjust the axle end play using the method in the tech section. It works great and requires no special tools or dial indicator. http://www.moparts.org/Tech/Archive/axle/12.html Make sure you drive the new seal all the way till it bottoms, it sits deep in the axle tube. This requires a seal driver or correct diameter pipe to get to the bottom without risking ruining the new seal. Buy an extra seal in case you bend the 1st.
