I fixed my speedometer needle by cementing a small diameter wire into the v shape fold of the needle splicing it together and then repainting it. The mend was no longer visible. I used Testors paint, USCG orange.

Wow, I performed the same repair many years ago by going to a sewing shop and buying the smallest sewing needle they sell (it was TINY, and very stiff), superglued it in the V like denfireguy,then superglued the broken part onto the new "shaft" in the same manner. Testors flourescent orange paint (mask freakin carefully!!!) and done!!! Worked great!!!
