A 6-71 blower for an engine displacement of that size is a waste unless you were to under-drive it and then you're defeating the purpose of the larger blower. That is likely the main reason why there was no interest. A 3-71 or more common 4-71 is more than enough for those engines.

Plus it just looks too big. If I was looking for performance, I wouldn't start with a 291 Desoto to begin with. My 4-71 will likely be under driven, and v-belt driven, to boot. Trying to find some pix of old v-belt setups. My old man raced with a chain driven one back in the late 50's, but I really don't have spheres that hard.
