Hey Cab, i sure never expected a public apology. i tip my hat to you. i know we've had some discussion/debate about certain dyno numbers in the past, but it's nothing to lose sleep over.
it's all about getting accurate info from the dyno to help guide the tuning process. when the dyno is accurate, it just makes the process a lot easier and the on track performance will verify the data. i'm glad to hear you found the problem with the dyno. it'll make your work a lot easier in the long run.

i'll share a short story with you about a related incident.
i built a pump gas 505" combo for a customer some time ago. i couldn't get time on the dyno i usually use so i opted for one (stuska)i've used in the past. that combo made almost 750 HP on that day. the only problem was, in my mind, it didn't have anywhere near enough head or cam to make that much HP. i was pretty sure i didn't just stumble on to some amazing combo of parts to yield those kinds of numbers. i looked at all the data and it just didn't add up. i asked the owner about it and all he would say was that i built a really strong running Mopar. yeah, okay, whatever was what i was thinking on the inside. i thanked him for his time and went on my way.
a few days later after much thought and wonderment on my part, i ended up taking it to the usual dyno, (superflow 901) now that it was available. guess what, 670 hp was the number. hmmm. this time all of the data from the dyno seemed to jive, scfm, bsfc, etc. etc. and i went on my way.
the car ended up running the MPH and e.t. that would be expected for the weight and power. no real surprise, right?
i called the owner of the first dyno to let him know i thought perhaps his dyno was just a bit happy and that either the correction factor used or the calibration probably ought to be checked. to my surprise his reply was, "yea, i know. big dyno numbers keeps everybody happy and brings in a lot of work for our engine shop".
i just shook my head and wished him a wonderful day. what else could i do?
anyway, thanks again, i humbly accept your apology...
