Try a bigger squirter, or drill yours out.

Pump cams won't do anything to help a hesitation when you mash the go pedal to the floor, unless you have no cam to begin with.

What will happen is the cam will go to max lift, force the pump lever over and the overload spring that touches the next lever will compress until the fuel discarge catches up to the spring.

A different ramp cam won't matter when you go instant on with the gas, and a different amount of lift will only change the point where the fuel discharge catches up to the overload spring, but by that time you hesitated already.
