I purchased a valve cover stud kit from the local speed shop. After driving the car for a few days it developed a massive oil leak from the valve covers (trashing my ceramic coated TTi's). When I removed the covers I found that 6 or 8 of the studs broke. I was able to extract all but 2 of the broken studs, and am currently faced with pulling one of the heads. If I have to go that route I was thinking about getting some work done while I have the heads off the car. I remembered reading on the board that someone was doing CNC porting of the 440 EB heads, and getting 300+cfm on the intake side.

  • Any suggestions for removing broken studs? I've tried a left hand hardened bit and a "kobalt" bit.
  • Tips or tricks for removing burned on oil stains from ceramic coated headers?
  • Who is the preferred CNC head porter? Will you take an exchange? How long does it take? Price? ETC...

Thanks,

Greg
