dont use a hole saw, use a step drill bit, going in as tight as possible so you get a snug fit.
you can go in a little at a time to get proper fitment.
a step drill bit works like a charm. only needed one bit to do every size hole up to the 10AN to feed the pump.
 once you go too big your done and no going back, i put duct tape under the area where you drill to catch the shavings and then took a plastic bag and opened it up inside the fuel cell to catch the remaining shavings, i also removed the foam and then vacuumed out any remaining shavings with a shop vac.
If your going to vacuum it out no need to do all the tape and bag stuff. 
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
