I don't like silicones or Form-A-Gasket anywhere near gasoline or an intake port.

I don't either Steve as none of them are rated for gasoline contact.

If I can get off my lazy [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] this week I'm going to do a step by step pictorial on sealing the pan by cutting off the runners and tucking the excess under the head. The pan only needs to be installed once, and you can change intakes as many times as you want without disturbing/changing the pan. And since the pan is totally segregated from the runners there is absolutely no way to suck oil. The problem with the non-recessed 1 and 2 piece trays that are on the market is that you can't run a low/medium rise intake with a heat crossover -- at least on a low deck -- because it high-centers the intake.
