I simply don't agree with the notion that avgas is "designed" for higher altitudes as proven by the full power takeoffs at sea level. It has to work for crop dusters an sea level and tuboed twins at 18K feet.

Nobody said it was race gas or even equivalent but it is suitable for some combinations on the street and strip just like diesel oil is used in cars.
