That was proberly the original "featherfill",....I used that once back in the early 80's stuff went on like stucco, and sanded like iron!........horrible!, The Evercoat G2 acts more like a heavy primer/surfacer coat,...I'd only recommend 1 coat, then blockl with 80 grit, and coat with a good quality primer surfacer
