i'm doing just basic rebuild on my 440 (heads, headers, electronic distributor and carb already purchased, not included in this figure)

$370 for machine work (discounted...friend of a friend)

$40 to press pins in new piston/rod assy.

$500 for engine kit - rings, bearings, pistons, etc. (again discounted)

$400 for cam and lifters, timing cover, timing set, triple gauges, spark plugs, etc.

$90 for deep sump pan and pickup

$40 in hoses

right at 1400 right now...not much left to get - shouldn't cost much more to go a little bit higher performance
