I am the original poster for this thread, and I am replying to Hoof Hearted, who made the gracious offer of mailing me a racoon tail to hang off my antenna.
I am aware of the possible problems with air shocks losing pressure if you are totally relying on them to have tire clearance, however the situation with the Charger is quite different from that of a Challenger, given the high wheel openings and factory rake of the Charger: I plan on installing air shocks, but even if they lost pressure, I would still have clearance between the top of the tire and the sheetmetal (unless, of course, I were to go over a bump fast, or corner fast).
