Finally got around to reassembling one of my T-Q's last nite. that I had Demonsizzler re bush for me about 6 weeks ago. Got overheated a bit outside, so this was was a "nice" cool down job at the kitchen table in the A/C!

(note to self; go order the kit for the other one before all the important "little" parts get lost!)

Anyway, what I need to know, is that I also got a set of real brass floats from him. There is not alot of difference between specs here; but in the kit I got by application for these carbs, it appears that all call for a 29/32 float height; a couple say 27/32; but I found an old "tech-lit" instruction sheet (the ones that are packaged with all the carb kits) folded up in one of my FSM's; different years were covered, and both BB and SB applications.
Now in this older spec sheet (neither listed many 318 apps, but the ones that did were basically the same spec as some of the 440 application specs) The older sheet listed more by engine CID, the newer one was more by carb number.

Orig app for both my carbs, was '80 truck 360; carb #'s are 9265-S; but I am putting one on an '83 318 with EQ heads, stock replacement 360-2 cam, (think Comp 252) Performer intake, hooker headers and duals.
So, being that I am not using these carbs on their OE intended application, AND apparently they did not have brass floats as OE during the years the kit I bought covers, what should I set them at?
The older spec sheet shows several at 1", a couple at 1-1/16; but all but 1, that showed 1"/1-1/16" float spec in that older sheet, also had a footnote saying that if using non brass floats, to use 29/32; same as all the factory service manuals I have here with a T-Q section do;

Is it safe to "assume" that the reverse is also true, when it says to use a different spec for non brass floats? I set it up at 1-1/16" being brass, and also being only a 318. It would be easier to go back and change now than once it is on my truck.
