Just an fyi, I set all floats, brass or nytrophyl, on all T.Q. models except for smogger carbs that have to pass emissions, to 29/32". All current replacement brass floats regardless of application/model, set to 29/32" according to the mfg, David.
I was hoping that you'd chime in here Dave; these are not "new" replacements but some of your "good/used" ones; the different specs were for the older mid 70s carbs with the brass ones being spec'd at lower readings. Being that emissions regs got tighter as the years went on, the regs were definitely "looser" in the brass float days; what would the difference be, to cause a carb kit parts maker (or just seller?) to show a different spec for the same carb with floats made of different materials? Were they allowing for some "soak-up" of gas, where that would make the plastic floats wanna hang naturally lower?
