Too much water flow is not possible imho(unless we are dealing with over cooling). That is a common misconception and does not coincide with the laws of Thermodynamics.

Even if the water flows faster and has less time to transfer heat to the radiator...it also has less time to absorb heat in every pass through the engine....so thats a wash. Also, now the water flows through the radiator many more times per hour. Thats my belief anyways.

I still use a stat with my electric pump to help it warm up faster as I have it wired by a relay connected to the ignition switch.
