I run an evac on my race/street stroker. It pulls 5 inches at idle. Two breathers, one on each side in valve covers. Been like this for at least twenty years with no issues.
I would guess that a lot would depend on the cam specs. What I have works for my set up very well.



How do you get 5"hg at idle with breathers?

I don’t know to be truthful. I installed the evacuation system and checked it with a vacuum gauge and this is what I got. I do know that on the street, you need straight thru mufflers. Chambered mufflers have too much back pressure. Maybe this is why it works for me. I run Magnaflows.
