I use giant sheets of cardboard.

A buddy has a trucking company and works on his stuff at my garage and since his stuff is so big that it won't fit inside he keeps me stocked up with 4x6 sheets of cardboard left over from the freight he hauls.
He uses it to lay under the trucks outside, I used it inside because it's softer than concrete.
