In 1975 a set of Diamond or Mullens ported heads, that are dogs compared to Edelbrock Victor Jrs, cost nearly as much as what we pay now. I love it. #2 Big cubic inches. Around that same time, I don't really remember when, there was an article on the cover of Hot Rod magazine, 575 cu in MILODON MASTADON, I forgot the details but these guys probably spent 6 months and a zillion dollars to build a 575 cu in Hemi. Now we get full radius stroker cranks and H-beam rods almost for free. And you just bolt it together, like theres nothing to it. #3 Power. Before Ray Barton got so busy he offered single 4-bbl, flat tappet, pump gas street motors with 800hp. That's WAY MORE power than Pro Stock cars had in 1975. And now we have it in a grocery getter.
