I do not know why, but do know many are subcontractors.
They pay for own vehicle, insurance, fuel and up keep. So assume they are not paid same way.
I know 2 who are. One is a friend of mines wife, one one is a friend.
The vehicle must meet USPS Standards and is not cheap to buy into.
My friend's wife had to run hers into the ground since the cost wemt way up on a new one.


The postal workers use Honda CRV's around here, regular LHD ones. They use to have RHD imported cherokees and stuff
