400 V8, if it matters. Was sitting at idle, running beautifully as usual, and it gave a quick sputter (maybe 2 seconds) and died. Cranks and sputters, won't start. Entire engine is new inside and out, even the carb and distributor are new. However, I reused the coil (cheapskate lol), and did not replace the electronic ignition module. I'm thinking that the module is the most likely culprit, since it is original. A module is $30 from Rock Auto, and a coil is $10. I figured I'd replace them both like I should have anyway, but what say ye about what's the most likely cause? I thought module, coil, fuel pump, in that order. It's definitely not out of fuel. I even tried switching from the front tank to the rear tank, would still not start.
