You don't mention rear gear or tire size but 116 mph at 6600 rpm doesn't sound right. I would look at your converter first to see what % slip is at finish line. I have 4.30 gears and 10.5x29.5 tires cross at 6700 128 mph. This with an 8" converter flashes to 5400. Something to look at
