I'm a big fan of wideband meters. I own an Innovate LM-1, and I liked it so much I have an LC-1 permanently mounted in my Coronet.

If you care about fuel mileage, big gains can be had when you can read exactly what you've got and when. You'll also learn more than you ever knew possible about your chosen carb and how it works and you tweak it for accuracy under all conditions. If you're a "carburetor geek" or ever thought you might like to be one, a wideband meter is the gadget for you!

On the race only board there's a discussion that you should read - someone basically asked the same question you just asked. Be sure to read that as well.
