Interesting, I have an old pan from a 71 New Yorker with a 375 horse 440 that has a baffle at the back of the pan, "U" shaped to help keep oil off the seal.
I wonder why that wasn't used on other hipo cars, or was it??

I have owned and used several of those type pans also I think Mopar started using them in 1971 on the C body cars and maybe in the BB Cordoba also later
