A little case of the hi-tech blues was a culprit here as well.

How could a car not shut off with the able body owner/driver in the cockpit?
Too much hi-tech and you have what they call a runaway train. Those cars should come with an exterior "MANUAL" cut off switch just like any one of our much older low tech cars.

I'd be really pissed if I couldn't control a cars ability to shut off especially when there was no violent crash or turn over.
