If it ain't broke why try to fix it work
I use to race a hemi and a M.W. car in NHRA stock with two different size 9 inch slicks. All the old SS and modified production racers back then(mid 1970s) would run the smallest tire that they could hook up on well their cars.
I ask one of the better BS/M racers why he change his tires so often, he was sponsored by Firestone at that time and he said his car didn't seem to hook as well after the third run on that size tire(that was before we where given 60 ft. times) Another one of his comments was he wanted the least amount of weight and drag possible after leaving the starting line work up
I have ran those same tires your using and they flat worked well up
A lot of the SS racers still use them today scope
