The Cuda I bought last year came with a B&M floor shifter. Fortunately the steering column was left unaltered, but its column shift lever had been removed and stored in the trunk. With the exception of the keyed "paw", the shift lever is in excellent condition. Rust and corrosion has resulted in a loss of metal. I am concerned that it may be too weak to function without breaking. Is a lot of force applied to the paw when shifting? Is adding a little more metal with brazing an option? I know the simplest option is to find another lever, but I always strive to keep as much of the cars originality and parts intact.

Thanks,
David
