I run two on carb vehicles right now. A Mr Gasket mini pump and an electric diaphragm pump purchased overseas.

The Mr gasket does fine on a Ford PU for priming and vapor lock prevention duties.

The electric diaphragm pump does fine for priming and vapor lock prevention on a '47 PW.

Both of these are self regulated and low power consumption.

If I were buying a little bigger pump I would probably choose the Carter electric. Mostly because it has some advertised suction capacity. Many electric pumps are supposed to be mounted below fuel level which is often not possible.

The Mr Gasket and Carter specify a filter in front of the pump to protect from debris.
