I have had issues in the past with "remanufactured" carbs running worse than the carb I had started with.

You still have the old carb? Send it to someone that hand rebuilds them and return the reman carb for you money back.

Of course this all assumes you already took care of the various adjustments and whatnot to make it run properly. You do have to do your part too.
