5th wheel is the way to go that big and heavy, then your truck will be more comfortable pulling that much trailer. What do you need the bed cap when you have 36' of storage space in your trailer?

You can put tons of stuff in a 36' trailer, so they weight a lot going down the road usually.

A lot of people travel with their ATV's (Hunters, campers). They'll fit in the truck bed but not in the travel trailer.

OK

But those who say a 36' tag trailer will be OK...has not pulled a 36' tag trailer I am betting. Most if not all that I have seen that big are 5th wheels I believe.

It used to be that 32' enclosed race car trailer was the max size trailer to pull as a tag. And I know of a friend who had 32' tag race car trailer that I raced with and he only used it one season because it was bear to tow. He got a larger goose neck trailer next.

And now the 5th wheel toy haulers are the way to go if you want to do that.
