Ok here goes, I bought the Grid about five years ago so I could eliminate other electrical components in the race car. The MSD Grid literally has everything built into it like a rev limiter (for each gear),ignition curve programming (for every gear change), engine starting retard, two step launch control, Data Acquisition (although rudimentary), internet upgradeable, controlling your air or electric shifter, and a v-net connector to connect and stream data to a racepack data acquisition system. These are just the operations of the Grid that I use! There are many more things that the grid can do but I don’t use them. You can buy a remote launch control to set launch RPM (which I currently use although you don’t need to) along with other modules for boost retard and traction control. To sum up, Grid makes all the other MSD ignitions seem primitive by comparison.

So if you are fairly computer literate or know someone who is the Grid is for you.
