MSD Grid Ignition - 05/11/18 11:04 AM

Who uses a MSD Grid ignition? I'm needing to buy a new system for my new project. So if you have any feedback or advice, I'm keen to hear what you think.

I bought one two years ago and haven't used it yet realcrazy
I have had a NOS MSD digital seven non programmable box for several years also that I haven't used yet and called MSD tech to make sure the grid box is compatible with it, they said yes luck
Now I have to learn on how to use the grid to do my tuning on the new car, whenever I get it done luck

Ok here goes, I bought the Grid about five years ago so I could eliminate other electrical components in the race car. The MSD Grid literally has everything built into it like a rev limiter (for each gear),ignition curve programming (for every gear change), engine starting retard, two step launch control, Data Acquisition (although rudimentary), internet upgradeable, controlling your air or electric shifter, and a v-net connector to connect and stream data to a racepack data acquisition system. These are just the operations of the Grid that I use! There are many more things that the grid can do but I don’t use them. You can buy a remote launch control to set launch RPM (which I currently use although you don’t need to) along with other modules for boost retard and traction control. To sum up, Grid makes all the other MSD ignitions seem primitive by comparison.

So if you are fairly computer literate or know someone who is the Grid is for you.

iagree
As above. Even upgrading the firmware is a doddle. Will be fitting the ARC module to ours soon

John summed it up nicely! The grid really is the ticket

Have one and been playing with it. Pretty simple and real good.

7-years & 100+ pages of questions/answers from some talented people.
