I've had good luck with the 21815 pump for years, but I don't know how tall it is compared to a Melling pump height. Always great hot idle pressure and trap pressure. Usually, if anything, it has to be turned down from stock setup. I know that the Milodon covers are massive, due to all of the plumbing going through it.
