That tranny could be one of the early 3.09 first gear trannys work scope
You can mark and align the input shaft and mark the front bearing retainer and then mark the flange on the output shaft and output shaft cover and put it in first gear and rotate the input shaft exactly one full complete revolution while counting the flange revolutions, it will either rotate a little over 2.6 revolutions or a little over 3.1 revolutions scope
The reason I bring this up is the lower first gear ratio allows you to run a higher speed rear gear without bogging in first gear up
