According to the 61-71 Dodge sweptline site the small block 727 is a direct bolt on, with the use of a B&M flexplate, if I remember right. And yes there are adaptors available to mount a Chevy tranny to it. As far as the output shaft and driveshaft it is not an issue. This is going into a 1949 Chevy panel truck "monster" 4 wheeler with 44" tires for use at the sand dunes on Michigan's west coast. Once again thanks to all for the info.
