Check for popped fuses. Check for shorts in the wiring in the column, start with turn signal switch. I had an 85 Ram 1500 blow fuses when I went to use the horn. Turns out the horn contact button from the turn signal switch was wearing away and depositing a layer of graphite dust across the top of the connector block for the wiring on the turn signal switch, causing an intermittent short. May be a long shot but you will probably have the column apart when you troubleshoot this. Not sure what year they changed from a brass roller to a graphite button in the turn signals.
