Both cars were A990 and purchased new. One from a local dealer. I knew that car well. The other not too far from here. One guy traded in a 63 Max Wedge car. The dealer did not want a car like that on the lot so the A990 buyer pulled the 426 out and installed a sellable 318. Sometime in 1965 a person went there, purchased a nice drivable 318 Belvedere for a couple of hundred bucks and drove it into the ground never knowing what it really was. One of the notices from Chrysler one guy received was on filling the muffler with ballast. He did so. The next weekend at Niagara it fell on the track. They thought it was so funny watching the track official drag a 150 pound muffler off the track.
