Great, I think we all agree on gold at this point, next issue is correct gold.

Looking at the difference between my original and aar1064's original, its clear to see they were not manufactured by the same company, with the same process.

Equally noticeable is the depth of color. Since he sanded the front of his I can only go off the back, and the color or fairly deep, a fair match to the "Authentic Restoration" shown at the top of the thread.

Mine on the other hand appears more light gold or light brass in color on the exposed surface, but the back is clearly not covered in color. Makes it tough to say what it started life as. We also know that Fastmark believed his cars to be silver, or very light gold, more in line with what I found.

So whats a guy to do to be considered correct?
Simply buy the "Authentic Restoration" part?
Does anyone know if its a two piece construction?
Paint or plated?

The only other options would be to find an NOS one or get mine anodized with a shade of yellow gold thats closer to my current color.
