As a profesional repair shop owner I say go for it! We replace more 4l60 based trannys than all other trannys combined here and I am a chrysler specialist shop. Some shop like mine will make plenty of money fixing that junk trans for you.

FWIW I have sold a quite a few a-500s and 518s that have ended up in B and E bodies with no floor pan mods. Most are under $2000 with a good converter, fab a crossmember, shorten the D-shaft wire in a couple switches (OD override, vacuume and gov pressure) and your done. All existing linkage works and cooler lines are on the proper side...
