That paint was really a bad deal if you accidentally got car wax on it as it would look very chalky white and would stay on the black for a looong time.

I would think thre would be a flat black with a flat clear coat with some texture that would be much better but still give the original factory look.

Some of you paint guys want to chime in on this?


The biggest thing is not how flat it is. They make flating agents you add to base for single stage and Clear as needed to get the right gloss.
You add some do a spray ot if you dont like it add more till you get it how you like it.
The problem is
1) This paint looks like 220 wet or dry sand paper
2} It has a metal flake look to it as is seen in the pics above.
Even the Laqure paint that was avalible does not look like the orginal finish, due to this.
What all the paints tried do is give the slightly ruff 220 look and flat/semi flat look but do not have the metal flake look.
I am sure someone at a paint jobber could play and play with stuff to get it closer than the stuff now offered though
