I also used a B&M Quick Click in my old race car and because of the cable routing I had issues with header heat and cable destruction. I now have a Cheetah for the new racer and the cable comes out the back of the shifter and comes at the trans from the rear...no more issue!!
Personally I would not bother with a RMVB on a street car or even a street/strip car. I found out from Al Young (many time NW drag champion) that all the times we raced he used an auto valve body with custom governor weights from Pat Blais that shifted itself and his shifter was mostly for show.
