What I'm considering is finding a clean 2000-2001 X Cab truck and swapping out my '96 X Cab. My truck is a '96 3500 X Cab Cummins Auto with power everything that's a bit rough and the interior is quite tired. I like the half doors the later models offer.
Will a gas engine instrument panel harness plug into my diesel underhood harness? I would guess I would have to find/buy a diesel instrument cluster at the very least for the later dash.
Has anyone tried this? What am I overlooking as a road block?
