Well, I don't have a choke housing so it didn't come off of that.
I did find a web site that helped even though I didn't buy my kit from them. (very nice of them) They call themselves "The Carburetor Doctor" and the link is

"Very few Thermoquads have one, but it is the gasket for the Hot Idle Compensator. I don't know if yours would have one or not, but if it does it's a bi-metal strip near the secondary air valve. More info here:

I think the last person in my carb placed this gasket in place of the needle /seat gasket but can't remember where I took it off from. After installing the correct needle and seat gaskets and after checking the float adjustments, one float was way different than the other so I thinking even more now that is where it came from because the thickness would alter the float level.
If anyone else has any other theory, I'm open to suggestions, Thanks
