Not much of a downside there really, a lot of the 2nd gen rams spun the shaft all the time, tons and tons of jeeps out there that spin the shaft all the time. Those front axle disconnects have probably caused more stuck vehicles than anything else.






And add dakotas to the list and in my experience the 4x4 gets almost the same mpg as a 2wd so it can't be costing you much mpg. I hate locking hubs
